Public Speaking with Love

Posted Friday, November 26th, 2010

The most important thing about professional public speaking may well be the love one has for one’s message. It isn’t just the fact that one is being paid for one’s time and expertise in a particular subject, but that one can share one’s passion for the topic with so many others. It is especially enjoyable when the subject audiences have paid money to hear is essentially, oneself, as is also the case with a lot of so-called motivational speakers!

Normally referred to as life coaches (some in the wishful thinking industry – that is, so-called Law of Attraction circles – even refer to themselves as “metaphysicians”), thisclass of public speaker focuses on a delicate mix between, to put it mildly , feel-good entertainment and possibly life-changing instruction. This is perhaps the area most accomodating of newcomers to the profession – though just like anything else in life, it is not easy by any stretch of the imagination. All things considered, one has to develop a large enough following first!

This is typically done through books. Many a professional speaker in this sort have become popular from authoring a number of books dealing with what could be referred to as life issues, the kind that involve primal feelings like hope and fear. In reality, a cynic might observe that hope and fear are exactly the wares in which they traffic! Additionally those whose topics are purportedly financial instruction are ultimately playing to an audience’s hopes and fears.

Beyond any moralistic judgment of such practices, the fact is that a good speaker does more than inform, and a great one outright inspires. Ultimately, expertise only will go so far. If folks wanted mere expertise, they can consult any number of books. But it’s the individual speaker who can make such facts come to life, for them – and such a gift of the gab is nothing short of love, a love for performance or even a belief in one’s message.

The Benefits Of Using Eco Green Friendly Products

Posted Thursday, November 25th, 2010

It’s very good to see that eco green friendly products are becoming more and more accessible. We are so indifferent towards the everyday choices we make, but this category of products can help reconnect us with the wider web of life. It really is a good feeling to understand that we can in fact spend our money wisely — at least once you stop to think about it anyway. And that is the thing with green ecologically friendly products; they are not just great for the earth but good for us, too, psychologically and emotionally. I mean, when was the last time you felt good about a purchase for reasons far beyond the utility of that purchase?

Using Athletic Tape Appropriately

Posted Thursday, November 25th, 2010

Athletic tape is a staple of physical culture dating back to the ancient Greeks at least; numerous statues show boxers and wrestlers with bandaged hands and wrists. Today’s gyms seem to operate on the general guideline that the more hard-core it is, the more people you’ll see sporting athletic tape! This is there’s a long tradition of its use in physical culture. Dancers, acrobats, wrestlers, runners – everyone that trains competitively is not only familiar with the tape but most likely uses it regularly.

Regrettably, many “gym tourists,” dilettantes who typically sign up in January and drop out by March, also sport athletic tape. Which is too bad not only because it creates a fashion accessory out of what is used in earnest by the professionals, but because it may lend beginners an unwarranted sense of confidence and ironically increase their chance of injury.

Athletes tape up their joints and, less often, other body parts for support. But as with any other piece of equipment or aide, it may be improperly used due to ignorance and actually hinder, not help, or even hurt in some cases. The reason being there can be a fine line between supporting a part of the body and constricting it. For instance, gymnasts usually tape up their ankles, but somebody that doesn’t understand what they are doing may bind the joint too tightly, rendering it immobile and neutralizing its shock absorbing capabilities.

Tape is often used by athletes performing movements that involve tremendous explosive forces. Appropriately placed tape can help direct these forces in an optimal fashion or channel them in a disastrous manner. Much like anything involving your state of health, from exercise itself to workout paraphernalia, be sure to conduct the most thorough of research, as well as consultation of qualified professionals.

It probably sounds crazy, but yes, there are such things as electronic cigarettes – and they’re becoming ever more popular; so much so that in another two or three years it will be crazy not to have heard of them! The Electronic Cigarette Association, a recently formed trade group to represent industry interests, estimates that there are around four hundred thousand users worldwide.

As if it didn’t sound funny enough, however, electronic cigarettes are even available in a wide variety of flavors. Yes, it’s no joke – after years of tobacco advertising touting the likes of Virginia Slims and Newport Lights for their superior “taste,” smokers can finally choose from a range of real flavors, from chocolate and cherry to coffee and banana split!

That’s right, banana split. It’s incredible but true – no longer will smokers have to stick with traditional tobacco or menthol (which are, of course, still available for purchase as well) but they now have a field of flavors even broader than that enjoyed by pipe-smokers to choose from!

No big deal? Of course, with such things as fish-flavored ice cream and soda that tastes like bacon having been invented, perhaps unusual cigarette flavors are not so surprising. But how about this: with an electronic cigarette, it’s possible to smoke without carcinogens or even nicotine for the first time in history! No, really, it’s all true: the flavored solution used by these products to produce the “smoke” (vapor) do not have to contain any nicotine whatsoever. These solutions are also available with varying amounts of the chemical, allowing users to choose the level of exposure for themselves! In fact, it is precisely on account of this ability to choose that the devices have been marketed as smoking cessation aids.

Shopping Online for Dental Insurance

Posted Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

Don’t think you can pay for dental insurance at this time? Then think of it as a form of risk management for your teeth (and gums and mouth in general, since many dental problems go on to affect those neighboring parts, too). Would you send precious jewelry, worth hundreds or especially thousands of dollars through the mail without some type of insurance?

Well, just how much are your teeth worth to you? Thought of in that way, dental insurance does not look so high-priced anymore! There are many kinds available, for you as an individual, or your family, or even group plans, all easily acquired by means of employers, licensed agents and brokers, or perhaps a website online.

You heard right, because of the power of the worldwide web, it’s easier than ever before to obtain dental insurance for yourself as well as your loved ones. Shopping in this way has become ever more popular , and it’s a terrific way to compare plans and policies, as well as prices! But as with any product or service, the proverbial “bottom line” may not always be easily discernible, so make sure you exercise due diligence as a consumer and review every detail carefully when considering to sign up.

Never assume coverage; always have it in writing: make certain you are actually covered for what you believe you are paying for! Double-check even the so-called comprehensive plans to make sure your money is going towards what you expect. Most are disappointed to discover only in their hour of need that they had tried to save some money by skimping on complete coverage. Unless you can predict the future (then you probably don’t need any insurance!), make sure to cover as much as you can afford. Of course, many can afford a lot more than they imagine, particularly with the many inexpensive plans available online today!

Why Gun Safes Are So Important

Posted Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

Gun safes and racks are used in each training company’s armory on Sand Hill in Fort Benning, Georgia – “Home of the Infantry.” Here is the United States Army post where infantrymen train and are trained, which includes those from allied nations all around the world . Sand Hill houses newly enlisted recruits for their combined OSUT tours, One-Station Unit Training, a sixteen-week program that comprises the BCT or Basic Combat Training (generally called “boot camp”) and AIT or Advanced Individual Training (where particular skill-sets are learned) of most other training depots.

Firearms security is maximized not just by means of sturdy gun safes and racks behind an unmarked dead-bolt steel door but additionally through a need-to-know policy that has recruits surprised to be issued weapons only during the second week of BRM (Basic Rifle Marksmanship) from what until then had been just an anonymous black-painted door in the company mustering area. Safety factors are further enhanced by the fact that no munitions are stored in the armory; rounds are offered only at the firing ranges.

Initially, however, recruits will only draw dummy-rifles made of hard plastic. Molded with realistic details and weighing just like a real M-16A2, they are made to familiarize the recruits with actually handling one, whether sprinting or low-crawling or marching. It is only following a week or so of such continuous practice that they head to the shooting range with the genuine article.

And from that point on, generally at about week five or six, they feel like actual soldiers, not just dumb recruits. A big increase in morale will most likely follow on that day when the gun safes and racks are opened up, for while the majority may dislike PT (Physical Training) and Army chow, not one single person is ever going to complain about BRM!

It doesn’t seem to make sense. But it certainly can make a great deal of money! It’s called Twitter, and it has taken the world by storm. And all it is is 140 characters of text. About what you had for lunch. What you’re doing now. What’s on your mind, what’s on your body, what’s in your stomach. That is basically what everyone seems to use it for.

Well, not just everyone, and maybe not you in particular. However celebrities have quite a lot of followers following them around through the various Twitter software installed on many smartphones. Overall, celebrities and mere mortals alike, around sixty-five million “tweets” are generated each day by 190 million users. Twitter has frequently been on the news, with some of the most famous cases regarding people held against their will managing to impact their own rescue by tweeting to their followers who than contact the authorities for them.

Therefore it can be handy. However for the most part, it is a way to stay in touch without getting involved in actual conversations. And in this regard, the service has come in for a lot of criticism by cultural observers. In the end, doesn’t such superficial intimacy smack of narcissism? Why must family and friends go through your daily minutiae? Would you call them up to tell them about what you are having for dinner? Then why use Twitter software for the same ends?

On the other hand, if you happen to be the sort of person who leads a more-interesting-than-average kind of life – if you happen to be a celebrity – you’ll probably have a ready audience for the tweets you can manage. And, as with most things online, there are people in the marketing department busy finding out how money can be made from such a situation.

Why A Old Used Macbook Is Better Than A New One

Posted Monday, November 22nd, 2010

For those who were gonna buy a used Macbook, the recent announcement by Apple may give them pause. Responding to long-standing feedback for smaller and more affordable laptops, the Cupertino, California business just came out with two new Macbook Airs. Nevertheless why should any of this be of concern to buyers of a used Macbook?

Mainly because in just a few months’ time, the market will likely be filled with these newer models for purchase! Well, fine, probably not “flooded,” but it’s likely that a great deal of early adopters will tire of their purchase.

Yes, Apple customers are famous for their brand loyalty, however these newer models of Macbook Airs are something of a mixed bag in general, giving you with one hand while taking away with the other, so to speak (or, maybe not, not just a figure of speech, given the company’s – and particularly CEO Jobs’ – customary behavior).

Thus, anyone searching for a used Macbook now will have a lot more choices later on.Of course, such individuals are in all likelihood not extremely concerned with getting the latest and greatest (then again, as previously noted, these latest models aren’t exactly the greatest, either).

Nevertheless these are Apple fans we’re talking about – they’re also notorious for prizing appearances above all else. All things considered, why else would someone pay almost two times the price for not even half the features?

All right, that’s a stereotype, and not entirely true to life. But the wider point is valid enough: it will be interesting to see whether the second-hand market for Apple notebooks will wait for used units of these new models to filter down the line – or will they wait only when costs on used older models are driven down even further? In any case, it’s surely a great time to be an Apple lover!

Raise Credit Score And Enjoy Life

Posted Monday, November 22nd, 2010

Raise credit score” is really a keyword phrase that search engines see every day being keyed in by people all across the country. In these financially tough times, a good personal credit history is more important than ever before, what with even companies demanding to conduct a review of one’s credit score. Renting an apartment can also be more difficult than ever now on account of these kinds of background checks.

Therefore it is not unusual that “raise credit score” is among the most popular search terms today. It seemsthat just about everything revolves around those three magic digits! And just how can one raise one’s score, then, so that it can be as attractive as possible?

This will depend. Generally speaking, the least difficult approach would be to basically pay off everything that is claimed, pay in full all creditors. But of course, at least a great majority of the people who type “raise credit score” into the search engines have already thought as much. What is actually wanted is a way to raise the score without having to spend a person’s lifetime savings for it!

Regrettably, there’s no easy way. Even if all the charges claimed are a hundred percent fictitious, it is going to still take plenty of time, and probably some money, even if doing everything yourself, to exonerate oneself before the credit reporting bureaus or the courts.

Utilizing a professional credit repair company will most likely save plenty of time, if not money. (Then again, if you put a value on time, not to mention your peace of mind….) But not all such companies are the same, though by now they should be, so it’s still important to exercise due diligence as a consumer. Credit repair organizations should all now adhere to the Credit Repair Organizations Act, or CROA, legislation that governs how these kinds of services are rendered in the United States.

The Mediterranean Diet Works Wonders

Posted Sunday, November 21st, 2010

The so-called Mediterranean Diet is truly one for the ages, one that will always be used. This is because it truly works – though like many programs labeled “diet” and which actually work, there’s a lot of sacrifice involved, at least for a person used to eating in the stereotypical American way.

Named after the Mediterranean region where the foods that make up the diet are eaten, the Mediterranean Diet consists of a lot of vegetables, with protein coming mostly from seafood or generally lean meats such as grilled chicken. Aside from animal sources, olives and olive oil provide the majority of the necessary fats. Alcohol in the form of red grape wine is consumed in moderation on a regular basis .

Eating in this way for hundreds of years if not millennia, the Mediterranean peoples are credited for having a robust health profile when compared against the average American, and many attribute a primary reason for the difference to the Mediterranean Diet. Obviously, exercise plays a big role, too, and overeating is overeating, regardless of how nutritious the food is itself.

Jogging is probably the “king of exercises,” as Bruce Lee is supposed to have said, because it is a fantastic all-around physical conditioner. However like when it comes to the food we eat, a diversity of options is ideal, and a great complement to the aerobic exercise of jogging will be the resistance training that comes with weight-lifting.

Integrate proper nutrition with rigorous exercise (even if it’s not formal exercise and just the simple playing of sports such as basketball or soccer) and excess fat will be burned and the pounds will come off. One last thing: do keep in mind adequate rest, too. Exercise and proper nutrition is only going to go so far without adequate sleep and rest in general. When stressed, the body produces high amounts of cortisol which will have you gaining back all of that fat!
